Both get searched for the same trip. They are not the same vehicle, and they are not built for the same terrain around Hurricane. Here is how to tell which one you need.
A dirt bike is a two-wheeled motorcycle built for narrow single track, technical climbs, and long backcountry trail loops. An ATV (four-wheeler) or UTV (side-by-side) is a wider, four-wheeled machine built for open terrain like sand dunes, and parks like Sand Hollow require them to run a whip flag. We rent Husqvarna FE350 and FE450 dirt bikes only — no ATVs, UTVs, or side-by-sides. If you pictured carving sand dunes, you want an ATV or UTV from a local OHV outfitter. If you pictured riding red rock single track around Hurricane, you want a dirt bike, and you are in the right place.

Sand Hollow State Park is the most-searched off-road destination near Hurricane, and it draws a lot of ATV and UTV traffic — the park is a 20,000-acre sand-dune area built for flagged OHVs. Our Husqvarna dirt bikes are not permitted or equipped to ride inside it. If dune riding at Sand Hollow is specifically what you are after, a local OHV outfitter near the park is the right rental for that trip.
What surrounds Sand Hollow, though, is dirt bike terrain: the BLM single track of Warner Valley to the south, the rockier climbs of the Hurricane Cliffs to the north, and further out, Toquerville Falls and Gould's Rim. That is 150+ miles of narrow trail built for two wheels, not four, and it is what our Husqvarna FE350 and FE450 rentals are built for.
If you searched for an ATV or UTV rental and landed here, it is worth a second look at what you actually pictured for the trip. Carving open sand dunes points you to an ATV/UTV outfitter. Riding technical single track and red-rock trails points you to a dirt bike — and we only rent dirt bikes. No. Sand Hollow State Park is a sand-dune area built for OHVs, ATVs, and UTVs with whip flags, and our dirt bikes are not permitted or equipped for it. The BLM single track that surrounds the park — including Warner Valley to the south and Hurricane Cliffs to the north — is exactly the terrain our Husqvarna enduros are built for, so most riders headed to the Sand Hollow area end up riding the perimeter trails with us instead of the dunes themselves.
