Sand Hollow is the most-searched dirt bike destination in Southern Utah, but there is an important distinction most rental companies gloss over. Sand Hollow State Park itself is a 20,000-acre sand-dune playground designed for OHVs, ATVs, and UTVs with whip flags — not for street-plated enduro motorcycles. Our Husqvarna FE350 and FE450 rentals are not permitted inside Sand Hollow State Park. The good news: the BLM single track that surrounds the park, including all of Warner Valley to the south and the Hurricane Cliffs to the north, is exactly the terrain our enduro bikes were built for. If you are coming to the Sand Hollow area to ride dirt bikes on single track, you are in the right place — we just ride the perimeter, not the dunes.
Important
Our Husqvarna FE350 and FE450 rentals are street-plated enduro motorcycles, not OHV-registered dune machines. They are not permitted inside Sand Hollow State Park. If you want to ride the dunes, book with an OHV rental company. If you want the surrounding trail network — which most serious riders prefer anyway — book with us.
Sand Hollow State Park is 10 minutes south of downtown Hurricane, off State Route 9. The trailheads for Warner Valley, which surround the western and southern edges of the park, are on the way. Most riders stage in Warner Valley and ride the BLM single track without ever entering the state park. If you want the dune riding experience, several local companies rent ATVs and UTVs with the required whip flags.
The riding around Sand Hollow splits cleanly into two worlds. Inside the state park: sand dunes and sand trails that require OHV-registered vehicles with whip flags — our bikes are not allowed. Outside the state park on the surrounding BLM land: the Warner Valley trail network to the west and south (39+ miles of single track, washes, and cliff-edge routes) and Hurricane Cliffs to the north (technical rocky single track and ridgeline routes). That BLM perimeter is where enduro motorcycles shine.
Five-mile trail on the south side of Sand Hollow that runs in the shadow of the West Rim — sandy wash riding with connector single track.
Single track and connector trails along the western edge of the park with views down into the reservoir. Mixed beginner and intermediate terrain.
The 20,000-acre Warner Valley trail system starts minutes from Sand Hollow and is where most of our renters actually spend their day.
For intermediate and advanced riders, the escarpment trails north of Hurricane offer the more technical cousin to the Warner Valley single track.
If your mental picture of "Sand Hollow" is red sand dunes, you want an OHV rental company, not us. If you want world-class dirt bike single track within a 10-minute drive of Sand Hollow, you are in the right place — the terrain surrounding the park is what our Husqvarnas were built for, and it is the riding our customers consistently rank as the best of their trip.
For the BLM single track around Sand Hollow, the Husqvarna FE350s is the most popular pick — smooth, light, and forgiving. If you ride 450s at home and want the extra power for the climbs up to Hurricane Cliffs, grab the FE450.
No. Our Husqvarna FE350 and FE450 rentals are street-plated enduro motorcycles, not OHV-registered dune machines, and are not permitted inside Sand Hollow State Park. For dune riding, rent an OHV/ATV/UTV with a whip flag from one of the local OHV rental companies.
Sand Hollow State Park is a 20,000-acre sand-dune area inside park boundaries that requires OHV registration. The surrounding BLM land — Warner Valley to the south, Hurricane Cliffs to the north — is open desert single track where our enduro bikes are perfect.
Warner Valley starts just outside the southern boundary of Sand Hollow State Park and is where we take 90% of our renters. The Warner Valley Wash runs right along the park and the 39-mile main trail sits a few minutes further south.
