Rental Comparison
Electric bikes are quiet and easy. Gas bikes go all day and link trails on pavement. For 150+ miles of backcountry near Hurricane, the difference decides your ride.
Rent a gas dirt bike if you want all-day range, full-size power for technical climbs and open desert, and street-plating to link trails on pavement. Electric dirt bikes (Sur-Ron-style) are quiet, low-maintenance, and simple to operate, but battery range and recharge time are the limiting factors on long backcountry days. For Southern Utah’s 150+ miles of BLM single track and all-day rides out of Hurricane, a gas enduro covers far more ground without stopping to charge. We rent gas only — premium Husqvarna FE350 and FE450 four-strokes, all street-plated.
| What matters | Gas (our fleet) | Electric |

The reason most riders come to Hurricane is the sheer amount of terrain — 150+ miles of BLM single track and desert across Warner Valley, Hurricane Cliffs, Toquerville Falls and beyond. That is exactly the riding where a gas enduro pulls ahead: you can cover big distances all day and refuel in seconds, instead of planning the ride around battery range and charge stops.
Electric dirt bikes are genuinely good machines — quiet, low-maintenance, and simple to operate with no clutch or shifting. For short laps close to where they can charge, they make a lot of sense, which is why they are popular as beginner and intro bikes. Our lane is different: a 21+ rental built around experienced riders who want full-size power and all-day range on real backcountry trails.
Our Husqvarna FE350 and FE450 are also street-plated, so you can connect trail systems on short pavement sections without a trailer — something most electric dirt bikes cannot do. If you are weighing the FE350 against the FE450, see FE350 vs FE450.
No. We rent gas-powered Husqvarna FE350 and FE450 enduro bikes. We chose gas for all-day range and full-size power on Southern Utah’s long backcountry trails, where battery range and recharge time are the main limits of electric bikes.
A gas dirt bike refuels in seconds and runs all day, makes strong, sustained power for long climbs and open desert, and on our fleet is street-plated so you can link trails on pavement. Electric dirt bikes are quieter, need less maintenance, and have no clutch or shifting, but they are limited by battery range and must stop to recharge — which matters most on long rides far from a trailhead.
Gas, by a wide margin, for the kind of riding most people come to Hurricane for. Our trails run 150+ miles across Warner Valley, Hurricane Cliffs, Toquerville Falls and more, and a gas enduro can cover that on a tank with a quick splash-and-go refuel. An electric bike is better suited to shorter sessions close to where it can recharge.
They can be simpler to operate because there is no clutch or shifting. That said, we are a 21+ rental that requires prior dirt-bike or motorcycle experience, and our gas Husqvarna enduros are built for experienced riders who want full-size performance on real backcountry terrain.
Yes. Every Husqvarna FE350 and FE450 in our fleet is street-plated and road-legal in Utah, so you can link trail systems using short pavement connectors without a trailer. They are not permitted or equipped for the Sand Hollow State Park dunes.
